Cruising along the Mekong Delta River
Kinda wanted to take a dinner cruise on this ship just for the novelty…
Christmas Eve… who knew it was this big of a deal in Vietnam.

So many delicious exotic fruits – jackfruit, mangosteens, dragon fruit, papaya, and pineapple.

Eye opening experience- never realized you could use the coconut itself to scoop out the meat!!
Some sort of fresh sugar cane drink that sounds much better than it tastes.
Rose apples – YES.
Fermented cobra snake wine… yep, this was real life and I’m so glad I forced my ex to try some.

Chinese temple
Loved these incense corkscrew ringlet things so much that I took two home! Offering incense smells so good it’s crazy.
By far my favorite part of KL – Batu Caves.
“I’m such a sucker for baby animals” – every girl ever.
Eating offering flowers, it’s nothing to him.
This guy is the reason that the monkeys aren’t afraid of humans and feel entitled to food…
So many monkeys!!

As I’m getting these things together I’ve had to go through tens of thousands of photos but I’ve found it to be really motivational and inspiring to look at everything I’ve seen & done in the past couple of years, so here’s the last of my photos from Thailand- enjoy 🙂

Amazing passionfruit smoothie I had to document to remember.
We had a couple friends living here and this was a short walk from their place- an outdoor cafeteria of sorts.
Not gonna front, I was definitely nervous.
Zorb balls… this was about the most fun two adults can have sober.
Our driver stopped us here for an amazing view of the city. Sidenote – if you need a driver during your stay in Chiang Mai, we got his card and would love to pass on his info to anyone.

Seems legit.
Trusty restaurant next to our guesthouse where we dined at several times. Also, eating rice among other foods with a spoon rather than a knife makes SO much sense and I still eat rice that way to this day.
We really lucked out with the driver that our guesthouse arranged for us. He was the most humble, down to earth man I met on our whole trip. He was a really good sport and drove us around for hours on our last day, made suggestions to our plans and took us to his favorite restaurant for northern Thai delicacies.

This was literally breathtaking.
My first time having khao soi. Highly recommend– I would consider it the northern Thai comfort food equivalent to chicken noodle soup (but WAY better).

These photos are from the first leg of one of the best and most humbling trips I’ve ever taken, from when I went to visit my best friend at the end of his study abroad experience. Definitely can’t wait to go back – and will post photos from Bangkok next week.
Disclaimer – the shots from the waterfalls were taken with a very basic a point-and-shoot and won’t blow up well.

Probably what I miss the most about Asia/Australia/anywhere tropical is the selection of exotic fruits and also the intense flavor of fruits we get in the midwest. For example- pineapple and mango.
I am the biggest sucker for cute garnishes/flashy things in my drinks.
